The south-facing gardens are simply beautiful and looking through the colonnaded windows of the veranda sat in your Lloyd Loom chair overlooking the swimming pool and sun decks surrounded by exotic palms and flora, you would be forgiven for thinking that you were on some tropical island hideaway. The bedrooms are a delight: all en-suite, some four-posters, some king-size, superbly equipped and all beautifully presented. Linda and Paul the hardworking owners, together with their loyal team of friendly staff, are all absolute sweeties. Bentley Lodge What a warm, friendly and comfortable place this is, with bright spacious bedrooms, all of which are immaculately turned out and well equipped. There is an excellent garden room ideal for guests to relax in, and the beautiful dining room overlooks the manicured gardens that are obviously a labour of love for Clive and James, the hosts who pride themselves on the level of comfort and the quality of the service they provide to their guests, and their housekeeping skills are second to none.

Daylesford Hotel In a quiet tree-lined avenue near the Riviera Centre is where we found this superb and elegant little hotel. Inside, the house is simply immaculate. The dining room and residents' lounge are beautifully presented and the bedrooms are just stunning. The proprietors Dianne and Simon are two of the friendliest hosts that you are ever likely to meet. On arrival, they welcome you with a tray of tea or coffee and their knowledge of local places of interest and restaurants is amazing. Talking of food, the breakfasts are wonderful with a fabulous choice of goodies.
