Imagine drifting off to sleep with the rhythmic and hypnotic rush of the waves and awaking from a blissful slumber to the bleating of lambs and these magnificent views. Breakfasting is a delicious affair with your table being graced with only the finest organic locally grown and reared produce, and the breakfast menu must be one of the most comprehensive and thoughtfully balanced we have ever seen. The
fantastic garden is tranquillity itself, and having been nurtured by
clergy past, it is a quintessentially English country garden full of heady-scented azaleas, rhododendrons and the bizarre gunnera.
This is without doubt an idyllic and romantic country house

We found another gem: Lundy House Hotel nestling high above Grunta Beach on the beautiful untamed North Devon coast, looking out across Grunta Beach to Lundy Island and beyond. The stunning views of the ocean can be seen from many of the eight bedrooms, residents' lounge and breakfast room. All of the eight en-suite bedrooms are immaculate presented and come equipped with generous hospitality trays, LCD TV, Wi-Fi and radio alarm clocks. The superior sea view rooms include a romantic 4-poster bedroom and have large bay windows where you can sit and gaze at the stunning views of Grunta Beach and the ocean beyond; the sunsets here are just to die for. Good home cooking is the order of the day at Lundy House, so please leave room for Tim's big breakfasts that have quite rightly earned him a fabulous reputation, especially the porridge served with Devon clotted cream which is yummy. Throughout this super little hotel the windows constantly tempt you to gaze at the stunning views they frame and spectacular terraced gardens that lead down to the South West Coast Path and cliffs. Tim and Victoria are fabulous friendly hosts with a mine of local knowledge about all the special hidden places to see and visit whilst you are in arguably one of Devon's most beautiful shore line locations.

Lynmouth is without doubt one of the prettiest and awe-inspiring harbour towns on the North Devon coast nestled below the vast expanse of Exmoor. Clovelly House has arguably the finest position overlooking the East Lyn River in this wonderful town that has inspired literary giants together with the great and the good for hundreds of years. The accommodations at Clovelly House are just fabulous, and the juxtaposition of the contemporary decor and furnishings against the period architecture of the house and its location is simply stunning. Wilsham Farm provides classy bed and breakfast in magical surroundings, being just three miles from Lynton and one mile from the awe-inspiring beauty of the rugged untamed North Devon coast with its hidden coves and ancient harbour villages. What an incredible find: five beautiful holiday properties, all of which are just stunning, from the decor to the superb furnishings. The farmhouse with its low beamed ceilings has 3 bedrooms, one with a 6 foot four poster bed and en suite shower room, a family bathroom, its own south facing terrace with hot tub, barbecue and garden furniture, fully equipped modern kitchen, and a dining room - sitting room with inglenook fireplace and accommodates up to 6 guests. The Georgian wing of Coulscott House with its high ceilings, impressive entrance hall and chandeliers has 5 bedrooms of which two are en suite, a family sized bathroom, a drawing
room with feature fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, garden room and private south facing terrace with a hot tub, BBQ and garden furniture and accommodates up to 9 guests. The three cottages have been converted from 18th century barns. The cottages are set away from the main house around a triangular courtyard. Epchris Guest House is a handsome late Georgian house that nestles in one and a half acres of grounds at the foot of the Torrs in the Wilder Valley, one of the most beautiful and tranquil spots near the town of Ilfracombe and the seafront. The house has been beautifully and lovingly restored without detriment to its fine architectural heritage, retaining many of it’s original features. The sun terrace is fabulous for breakfasting al fresco or sundowners whilst taking in the breathtaking views across the Wilder Valley, and the outdoor heated swimming pool is fabulous for taking a leisurely dip if you are feeling a little more energetic. All of the en-suite bedrooms are beautifully presented and equipped with flat screen TV, DVD player, radio alarm clock, hairdryer and generous hospitality tray. Most of the bedrooms have stunning views across the Wilder valley and Ilfracombe. For the less able guest there are two ground floor bedrooms with en-suite wet rooms. Nicky and Rob are a delightful friendly couple who have worked so very hard with the restoration of Epchris but that it was a labour of love to ensure that everything is just so for their guests' holidays.

Shhh... This fabulous idyll is hidden between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, and the moment you turn into the drive between the ivy clad walls, you know that you have made the right choice. This truly is a wonderful country hideaway. The house dates back to the 1700s and is surrounded by tranquil walled gardens with a meandering stream and bordered by broadleaf woodland. Inside, eight individual bedrooms, seven of which are en-suite, some with roll-top baths, all immaculately presented in an unpretentious but elegant country house style that continues throughout the public rooms. Imagine a romantic candlelit dinner for two in the very elegant dining room followed by a couple of large brandies over a game of billiards. Roger and Jenny are fabulous hosts and really do make you welcome.
